JASE vs RP took place on **PenGame Academy 2025** in Manchester at **The Clint Store**. The host explains that this Academy run has no judges, so he will critique the performances and the viewers will also decide in the comments.
JASE goes first.
JASE opens by addressing FOZ dropping out and says the short-notice change will not affect him. He then redirects onto RP, attacking his appearance, age, girlfriend, veteran status and clash ability. He uses Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Bane, Tom Hardy, Omari, Annalise Keating, 16/32/64 bar structure, J.E/Jase branding and Russian roulette imagery. It is a strong opener with good writing ideas.
RP replies with confidence and direct battle energy. He says he runs clashes, uses combo punchlines, references previous wins over Tricky and Richie, and attacks JASE’s hair, mum, basic style, nervousness and lack of level. RP sounds very comfortable in the room and immediately makes the first round competitive.
JASE’s second is his most creative round. He flips RP into “racist politician,” uses Rishi Sunak, Ancestry.com, Deadpool/Wade Wilson and passport imagery. He also attacks RP’s skin, spots, walking style and performance form. It is a good written round and shows JASE has angles.
RP’s second keeps his presence high. He attacks JASE’s mum, nationality angle, appearance, delivery, girl, and says JASE’s bars cannot impress him. He brings Bill Cosby, Emile Heskey, spine-ripping, 28 Years Later and skinning imagery. It is aggressive, though not as sharp conceptually as JASE’s second.
JASE’s third is strong again. He brings in Millie dropping out, Danny Welbeck, Wesley Snipes, vampire imagery, RP/R.I.P., “A Piece of My Mind,” Matheus Cunha, Manchester United, six-year absence, Ed, Edd n Eddy, heroin and Brexit-style angles. This round has a lot of references and layered wordplay.
RP’s third is shorter but very effective in performance. He attacks JASE’s name using Jason X, Jason’s ex, Freddy Krueger, Thanos and population-kill imagery. He also references the short prep time and brings a serious allegation-style line about JASE as battle material. The round has stronger room presence and lands cleanly.
At the end, the host says both did well, but JASE looked like he was chasing the battle and did not seem fully comfortable. RP, apart from a small slip, looked more comfortable, confident, energetic and present. The host says if he had to give the battle to someone, he would give it to **RP**.
