Official Judges' Decision
This battle features Bigga (a 30-year-old from Enfield, North London) taking on Dan Dannah (a 28-year-old representing West and East London) in the first season of Pengame Rap Battles. The clash showcases a contrast in styles: Bigga brings a dominant, aggressive presence with direct disrespect, while Dan Dannah brings a faster, Grime-influenced flow that blends battle rap aggression with moments of real-life introspection.
Bigga correctly identifies his own biggest strengths before the battle: his physical presence and his voice. He uses an aggressive, imposing style, framing himself as a "grown man" who views his opponent as beneath him.
Lyrical Themes: Conversational disrespect, direct street threats, and asserting dominance over a younger opponent.
Dan is heavily influenced by the Grime genre, specifically citing artists like Ghetts and Joel Black. He has a faster, more rhythmic flow compared to Bigga, balancing battle rap aggression with moments of real-life introspection.
Lyrical Themes: Grime-influenced flows, battle rap bravado, real-life responsibilities, and conscious lyricism.
Style & Strategy
He uses an aggressive, imposing style, framing himself as a "grown man" who views his opponent as beneath him ("little Niggas Ain't Even on a task list").
Delivery
He uses conversational disrespect and direct street threats, attempting to make Dan look like a lesser opponent who isn't ready for a real war.
Style & Strategy
Dan has a faster, more rhythmic flow compared to Bigga, drawing heavy influence from Grime artists like Ghetts.
Delivery
He balances traditional battle rap bravado with conscious lyricism. While threatening to "ignite the flame," he also pivots to talking about real-life responsibilities, making his rounds feel more narrative-driven.
The Fraud Boy Line
"I'm gonna treat you like fraud boys do and put you in a basket / only thing I can help with your rap career is Clos in a car skit"
This bar uses wordplay around fraud and internet culture. "Put you in a basket" plays on both 'basket' as in adding items to a shopping cart during fraud, and physically disposing of someone. The "car skit" reference mocks the opponent's rap career as only being fit for a short social media comedy sketch rather than serious music.
The Obituary Line
"Me and your Auntie's already sorting out obituaries in the back with a preet"
This establishes Bigga's dark, hyper-realistic persona. By invoking the opponent's aunt and casually discussing funeral arrangements ("obituaries"), Bigga creates an intensely personal and believable threat that transcends standard battle rap braggadocio.
Football Metaphor
"I look at you I don't see options, always been in the Prem we ain't League hopping"
This grounds the battle in status and hierarchy. Using the English football league system, Bigga equates himself to the "Prem" (Premier League - the highest tier) and dismisses his opponent as a lower-tier player trying to jump leagues, asserting that they are simply not in the same class.
Gossip Blog Name-Drop
"that might pop on UK gossip or that other one man the shade B [The Shade Borough]"
Bigga modernizes the traditional threat of exposing an opponent's secrets by specifically name-dropping popular UK Instagram gossip blogs (UK Gossip, The Shade Borough). This makes the threat feel highly contemporary and grounded in modern social media culture.
Nautical Wordplay
"Tell a man I'm captain if your first mate"
This relies on clever double-meanings. "First mate" refers both to a subordinate sailor on a ship and literally the opponent's "first mate" (friend). The punchline flips the dynamic, establishing Dan Dannah as the "captain" commanding respect over the opponent and their crew.
The Sniper/Striker Simile
"I'm taking control as I aim for the goal like a striker or more like a sniper"
This sequence links sports imagery with combat imagery. Dan bridges the concept of "aiming for the goal" as a football "striker" to the lethal precision of a "sniper," showcasing his ability to switch between competitive and aggressive themes seamlessly.
Multi-Syllable Scheme
"Wrap around your head like turban / s off a dead MC with a sermon / ...I exterminate man like vermin / man tried to draw me out like CS now with the doctor's the surgery"
This impressively strings together a heavy multi-syllabic rhyme scheme ("turban", "sermon", "vermin"). It then pivots into a clever wordplay on "draw me out" connecting "CS" (gas or computer science/Counter-Strike) to ending up in the "surgery," highlighting Dan's highly technical flow.
BIGGA wins by judges' decision
BIGGA wins through presence, direct disrespect and a more imposing battle persona. DAN DANNAH supplies the faster grime cadence and several technically stronger rhyme passages, including captain/first-mate, striker/sniper and the turban/sermon/vermin chain. BIGGA's slower conversational threats, football hierarchy and social-media exposure angles are easier to follow in the room and make the matchup feel personal, giving him the judges' edge.
